The European Commission and the European External Action Service invite stakeholders worldwide to discuss ocean challenges and to define action-oriented solutions towards global sustainability objectives.

The 2nd International Ocean Governance Forum will take stock and discuss further the contributions and proposals made during the first series of webinars and workshops that took place between April and July 2020, and during the online consultation conducted from July to October. Participants will discuss how the IOG Forum can best transform these ambitions into priority actions to take forward.

At the high-level opening of the forum on December 14, 2020, Executive Vice President Frans Timmermans, Commissioner Virginijus Sinkevičius for Environment, Oceans and Fisheries and High Representative Vice President Josep Borrell will share their views on recent developments in international ocean governance and on European policy priorities emerging from the consultation process to strengthen initiatives, processes and instruments already in place. A detailed agenda can be found here.

Please have a look at the agenda for details on topics and questions that will be addressed during the parallel workshops on December, 15-16. Participation will be limited to ensure balanced and interactive discussions with stakeholders and experts. Please express your interest in actively participating when registering.

Register now for the conference here. Note: Registration deadline is December 10 midnight CET, the workshop registration may close earlier when maximum capacity is reached.
